Giving Notice
I wonder if a employee is expected to give 2 weeks notice before he leaves his job, do the employees have the right to the same expectation of their employer. If you change your terms it's expected but what if they change your terms of employment. Now I don't mean that if you are going to be fired that they should come up to you and say you suck and I'd just like to let you know that in two weeks your FIRED!!!! But what if the company is to be sold and there is no job guarantees shouldn't the employer let you know that a change is coming. I'm pretty sure that Benjamin Franklin said give me liberty or give me unemployment insurance.

Albanese's Restaurant
I eat here all the time it's one of my favorite Italian restaurants ( Albanese in the Milwaukee area the Brookfield location) I was there for dinner I had a pizza and a salad which I have had many times before and for that matter I have had most everything on the menu which is all good. when the pizza came out the sauce was all the way to the edge ( one of the things I like most about their pizza is the very thin crispy crust) that made the edge of the crust soft and doughy. When I mentioned it to the wait staff as more of a FYI I was told on Bocce ball nights it gets pretty busy so sometimes the cooks whip the pizzas out pretty fast and the next time I was there to mention that I would like a crispy edge. I left the restaurant and I thought about the wait staffs comment and I said to my self...self your one good looking DUDE!!! but I digress why should I have to ask that the pizza is made correct I go their expecting the normal which is very good food, so i guess that comment caught me off guard. I will go back again and have dinner there but a comment like that to someone else might drive them away. One last thing if you go make sure to try the cold red house wine very good.

Where has the time gone
Not that long ago (really or at it feels like not long ago) when I was in High School we had the Walkman a device that was the size of a small book that could play a cassette tape and we were cool. I have now learned that this will be the last year for the Walkman Sony will discontinue the item at he end of 2010. It made me think about one of my other favorite items the Boom Box, and let's not stop there when is the last time you thought about replacing your car stereo or adding a equalizer or maybe some Coaxial or better yet Triaxel speakers ( a nice set of Jensen's) Now we have our music on small mp3 players our video on ipods or both on our phones what happened to a nice belt driven turntable ( still have one great for classical music) well I have to go Now I have a truck with an Am/FM only radio and bad speakers, were going to have to change that E-Bay here I come.

A Place to Stay
Most of time I know that you read this blog and we talk about the things that make me unhappy but in a change of pace we are going to talk about a success story. Last week the company I work for ( ShoreMaster ) had a meeting in Duluth, MN we stayed at The Inn On Lake Superior. Nikki Anderson and Her staff was nothing but great. all my expectations and more were met by all of her cheerful and knowledgeable staff. If you have a chance I would definitely stay at the Inn On Lake Superior in Duluth, MN.

Eating out II
Back to the children's menu why do they only seem to offer mac-n-cheese, chicken strips, french fries, mini corn dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and smiley faces filled with mashed potatoes. why can't we have a skinless breast of chicken or steak for the kids. maybe mix in some rice or vegetables lets help make our kids healthier buy the food we eat. Just the thought of one, I can't be alone can I......

Eating Out
Why do you have to be under 12 to eat a kids meal or over 55 to eat off the senior menu. the portions don't change, the prices don't change. I think I should be able to have a half a sandwich and a cup of soup of maybe I want the chicken strips off the kids menu and they get dessert all the time. I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore....:o

Smoking
Why do employees at gas station when it's not busy smoke out front of the store. I know that they work alone a lot, but when you pull up and go inside they take one last long drag on their smoke and just when you get to the door they let the smoke out right in your face and if you are really lucky you can hold the door for them to go inside. Someone should tell them or their employer that it looks really bad to have the employee smoking out in front of the store. just a thought....
